About Us
The French Academy of Bergen County opened on September 15th , 2007 to meet the growing needs of children and parents seeking a place to learn the French language and culture or to enhance and improve existing knowledge and skills.
Today, the French ABC is offering after-school classes, and 54 children from 3 to 12 year olds are enrolled. Classes are organized by age and proficiency and take place on Wednesdays, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
The French ABC is a non profit organization which is supported by the French government as part of the program Flam.
The French ABC keeps growing and will open a pre-school class and a pre-K class on September 8th , 2008. We believe it is important for our children to speak different languages and be comfortable in a bilingual environnement. We will offer a structured, high quality education, nurturing confidence and self esteem and stimulating learning's desire.
We believe we can bring together the best of the two educational systems, French and American. Bilingualism is a life-long adavantage for the children, a chance they can have since their early childhood, a must in today's world. Let's work together to make it happen!
